I’m listening to a playlist on Spotify called “Caffeine Rush!” and it does not, at all, take the place of real caffeine.
In week two of my reduced caffeine plan. After successfully having my single dose Sunday and Monday, today I succumbed to a second dose because my brain is like MUD this week. Yesterday I couldn’t write at all and spent the day doing busy work and catching up on emails; blessedly I had no tight deadlines and was able to give my brain some time to regroup.
This is hard, y’all. And I know, total first world problem of the highest order. But…
So, anyhoo. I don’t have much writing juice right now. I’ve got a million things to tell you about, like how we got a new kitten. Or how I lost another couple of pounds. Or how I went back to hiking this last weekend after three weeks off to get my knee back in good working order. Or Tori’s first day of school. Or…
I’m just throw some pictures at you. I’ll come back once my brain adjusts.
Meet Leela, Tori’s new kitten. Leela was hand-raised as a foster kitten, so she is very used to being handled. After the first two weeks of slow introductions between her and Jax and Cannie Belle, she now has free range of the house when we’re home. She was four months old when we adopted her, so not a tiny baby, but plenty kittenish. She also came spayed, chipped, and fully vaccinated, and got a great bill of health from our vet. She also enjoys biting toes. I forgot that kittens do that.
Yep, Tori is back at the Philly Free School for her second year. She’s happy as could be about it. The house feels quiet without her here during the day, and I’m not going to lie, I relish the silence.
Cannie Belle is thrilled I’m hiking again, although it’s going to be too cool for her dips in the creek soon.
I remember years ago Sarah telling me that her daughter was the funniest person she’d ever met, and I totally get that now. Tori is HILARIOUS these days.
She’s so grown up, this girl. At the park on Saturday with her friend E, and of course my handsome husband.
And fall is already here, apparently.
Hope your week is going well. And I’m slipping in this adorable video. My little geek (shirt from Five Below, btw).
